The apex of the automaker’s most prestigious marque is the 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S cabriolet. Their flat-six twin-turbo engine, which produces 640 horsepower, is housed in their tails yet serves as their engine’s core. The engine generates spine-tingling yawps at astronomical rpm and offers neck-snapping acceleration. The 911 Turbo S is after all one of the fastest vehicles we’ve ever driven. Standard all-wheel drive and an outstanding eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission aid in achieving that legendary position. Even even more exotic supercars can’t match the amazing driving sensation provided by the 2022 911 Turbo S. As a result, they are elevated to our list of 2022 Luxx Favorites.
A twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter flat-six engine that produces up to 640 horsepower in the more potent of the two types hangs out in the back of both the Turbo and Turbo S; the standard Turbo model delivers 572 horsepower. Shifts are handled by an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard. Porsche promises that the Turbo S will reach 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, but on our test track, it reached that speed in only 2.2 seconds. The 911 Turbo is a pure performance powerhouse because to its extraordinary levels of cornering grip, powerful brakes, and rapid acceleration. Although the cabriolet models are a little heavier than the coupe, the drop-top Turbo S we tested was just as exhilarating.
